Conister Bank has been unveiled as title sponsor of the Longest Day Longest Ride 24 Hour Mountain Bike Challenge.
The Longest Day, Longest Ride, a 24-hour endurance mountain bike event held at the picturesque Conrhenny Plantation just outside Douglas is the Isle of Man’s most gruelling extreme sporting challenge.
Now entering its fifth year, the event takes the form of a multi-lap mountain bike race around a 5km course, with classes for individual competitors and teams. Held on the weekend closest to the summer solstice the format of the event is simple; ride for as long as you possibly can clocking up the most number of laps of the course.
Organised by the Loaghtan Loaded Mountain Bike Club, the emphasis is firmly on participation enjoyment and fun for all involved, whether riders, family members, spectators or support crew.
Speaking about the deal, Andy Bass, Business Development Manager from Conister Bank commented:
“We are delighted to be sponsoring the Conister Bank Longest Day Longest Ride 24 Hour Mountain Bike Challenge. It really is a unique and gruelling event on the Island’s sporting calendar, which continues to grow each year. We are proud to be partnering with the Loaghtan Loaded Mountain Bike Club on this event and the continuing work on the mountain bike trials in Conrhenny Plantation which are so popular all year round.”
Gary Cooper on behalf of the Loaghtan Loaded Mountain Bike Club added:
“The Longest Day Longest Ride has grown from small beginnings to become a firm fixture on the Island’s sporting calendar. We are keen to grow the event with entrants from both on and off-Island, whilst maintaining the laid back and friendly atmosphere the event is known for. Attracting a sponsor like Conister Bank allows us to take the event to the next level with a partner who fully supports our event ethos.”
